Gérard Mézin began his career in 1977 at PSA Peugeot Citroën, before specializing in information technology and management.
In 1982, he founded ITMI in Meylan, in partnership with the Grenoble Institute of Technology (INPG). In 1987, ITMI joined the Capgemini Group, where Gérard Mézin held senior leadership positions for nearly twenty years. His roles included Head of the Industry Division in France (1993–1996), Head of the Technical IT Division (1997–1999), and later Sales and Marketing Director (2000–2005). In this capacity, he led major operations, including the negotiation of a landmark IT outsourcing agreement with Schneider Electric.
In 2006, he joined Sogeti, a subsidiary of Capgemini Group, as CEO France. From 2014 to 2018, he served as Account Executive for the Capgemini Group on the Crédit Agricole account, where he negotiated and oversaw a ten-year strategic partnership worth several billion euros.
Alongside his corporate career, Gérard Mézin has been actively involved in economic and institutional organizations. He served as President of MEDEF Isère (1997–1999), then as Vice-President until 2009, and remains a member of its Executive Committee. He is an active member of the Association Progrès du Management (APM).
Deeply engaged in the business and non-profit ecosystem, he has held numerous board and advisory roles, including with Caisse d’Épargne Alpes, INP Partners (association of industrial partners of Grenoble INP) and the Minalogic competitiveness cluster. He currently serves as a board member of several SMEs and as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Grenoble Rugby Club (FCG).

Gérard Mézin is a computer science engineer and holds a PhD in computer science. He further completed a marketing program at the Institut Français de Gestion.
He is also a graduate of the Centre des Hautes Études de l’Armement, further strengthening his expertise in strategy and industrial environments.
