Jean-Philippe Demaël is Chairman of Progress Associés, which he joined in 2021.
Jean-Philippe Demaël started out working in the French civil service, specifically the Department of Industry, Research and the Environment, before taking over as Chief of Staff for the Director General for Industry.
In 1998 he transitioned into the manufacturing industry, at Arcelor Mittal, taking on the role of Managing Director for Automotive Stainless Europe, then CEO for Acesita (Aperam Brazil).
Then, from 2008 to 2016, he worked as Managing Director and then Chair of the Executive Board at Somfy.
He is the founding chairman of strategic consulting firm Horizons Altitude, as well as 2Mixte, a firm specialising in the managing the careers of retiring top athletes transitioning into business.
Jean-Philippe Demaël graduated from École Polytechnique and Mines Paris.
